Cool ideation process: Bad Ideas 3.0
Paula
Paula Alexandra Silva, assistant professor of University of Coimbra, Portugal, published a concept for coming up with design ideas, called Bad Ideas 3.0 whilst as Lancaster University.
The idea is that if you come up with a bad idea, don’t dismiss it (as being a bad idea, as most would), but progress it, then maybe some good idea will emerge.
Example, think of a car without an engine. Think of the positives (low energy costs, environmentally friendly etc.), and the negatives (how does it move etc.), then maybe you end up with inventing a caravan.
Note (for those not familiar with the term): Ideation is literally the action of forming ideas, from their conception to implementation and application.
